Shimoga woman sold to prostitution in Udupi, rescued by police
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials raided a lodge in Kinnimulki and uncovered an alleged prostitution ring operating from one of the rooms. During the operation, officers rescued a woman who was found inside the premises.
Investigations revealed that the woman, a native of Shivamogga, had reportedly been deceived by a man named Keshav. Under the false pretense of offering her a job, he allegedly confined her to the hotel room and coerced her into the flesh trade.
Authorities have registered a case against Keshav for trafficking and exploitation. Additionally, the lodge owner has been booked for permitting illegal activities within the establishment. Officials emphasized the importance of vigilance against human trafficking and urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
Further inquiries are underway to identify and apprehend any other individuals linked to the operation. Law enforcement has reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on such illegal networks and ensuring justice for victims of exploitation.
