Udupi: In a startling incident during the monsoon season, an autorickshaw driver in Udupi had the shock of his life when a snake unexpectedly emerged from the dashboard box while he was driving.
The driver, noticing sudden movement inside the vehicle, was stunned to find the reptile slithering out in the middle of the road. Reacting instinctively, he abruptly halted the auto and fled, narrowly avoiding any mishap.
Onlookers soon gathered, and a reptile expert, Pranesh Parkala, was called to the scene. He safely rescued the non-venomous snake and released it back into a nearby forested area.
Snake sightings are common during the rainy season in coastal Karnataka, and this incident serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to stay alert.
