Suspicious Death of Elderly Woman in Belapu: Jewelry Missing, Investigation Underway

In a tragic and unsettling incident in Belapu, a 66-year-old woman named Sumathi was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances. Sumathi, who had been living alone for the past three years, was found deceased on August 27. Her daughter, who had visited her home on August 26, grew concerned when her calls went unanswered the following day.

Upon arriving at the house, Sumathi’s daughter found her mother’s lifeless body. Notably, Sumathi’s face was reported to be unusually swollen, and her jewelry—including a chain, bangles, and a ring—was missing. The circumstances surrounding Sumathi’s death have raised significant concerns, leading to a complaint being filed at the Shirva police station.

Authorities are currently investigating the case to determine the cause of death and the possible involvement of any suspects.
