
Teen Nabbed for Viral dangerous Stunt Video in Manipal
Udupi: Manipal police arrested a 19-year-old for performing dangerous bike stunts and reckless driving within the city limits, following the widespread circulation of a viral video.
The accused, Mohammed Ashik, a resident of Athradi, was captured performing a wheelie with a pillion rider on NH 169(A) and Rajatadri Road. The stunt, which endangered public safety, sparked outrage on social media.
Acting promptly, a police team led by Manipal Station PI Devaraj T V, including sub-inspectors Anil and Akshay Kumari along with staff members Vivek, Prasanna, Imran, Suresh Shetty, and Sukumar Shetty Rudrava, arrested Ashik. The scooter used in the stunt, a TVS Access 125 (KA.20.HC 6899), was seized.
Ashik, who already faces a previous case of rash and negligent driving, was remanded to judicial custody. A fresh case has been registered at Manipal Police Station.
The incident highlights the dangers of such reckless acts and serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving.
