In a crackdown on wildlife crime, forest officials apprehended three individuals involved in illegal poaching activities in the forest near Vandaru. The arrests were made during a night raid to prevent the hunting of wild animals.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf, alias Maviya (23) from Bhatkal, Wasim Akram (34) from Shiroor, and Ali Bapu Yasin (36). Officials seized a range of items, including a firearm, knives, and other tools intended for poaching. Additionally, three mobile phones and an autorickshaw used by the suspects were confiscated as part of the investigation.
Following their arrest, the men were presented in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Authorities are continuing their inquiries to determine if the trio is connected to any other wildlife crimes in the area.
