Udupi: A major accident on National Highway 66 near Ambagilu left six people injured after a truck lost control and crashed into a motorcycle before overturning. The incident, which occurred this afternoon, caused significant disruption to traffic.
Truck Overturns, Injuries Reported
According to initial reports, the goods-laden truck veered off balance, resulting in a violent crash. Among the injured were the truck driver, four laborers traveling in the cabin, and the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
Swift Rescue Efforts
Social worker Vishu Shetty reached the scene promptly and ensured that the wounded were rushed to a private hospital in Udupi for urgent medical care.
Narrow Escape & Property Damage
A second motorcycle rider, who had stepped off his bike moments before the crash, narrowly avoided getting hit. However, his motorcycle was crushed beneath the overturned truck, sustaining severe damage.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities from the Udupi traffic police have launched an inquiry to determine the precise cause of the accident. Evidence collection is in progress, and further details will emerge as the investigation continues.
