Udupi: In a tragic incident at Adamaru Poornaprajna English Medium School in Udupi, a young student was seriously injured after being struck by an auto-rickshaw within the school premises. The accident, which was caught on CCTV, has left the local community deeply disturbed.

The injured child, identified as Bhavin Shetty, is a Class 1 student and the son of Ermalu Barpani resident Santosh Shetty. The accident occurred as Bhavin waited for his father after school. According to reports, an auto-rickshaw unexpectedly entered the school grounds and collided with the boy, leaving him with serious injuries on both legs. Bhavin was quickly rushed to a private hospital in Udupi, where he is receiving medical care.

Following the incident, Bhavin’s father, Santosh Shetty Barpani, filed a complaint at the Padubidri police station. The complaint named auto driver Sadananda Devadiga and the school management, highlighting concerns regarding safety on school grounds. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.

This incident underscores the need for stricter traffic control measures within school premises to ensure student safety.
