Udupi: Moderate rain swept through various parts of Udupi district on Sunday, with some areas experiencing heavy rain and strong winds in the evening. Intermittent rain was reported in regions including Udupi, Brahmavara, Kundapur, Byndur, Kapu, Hebri, Karkala, Siddapur, Perdur, Belman, Padubidri, and Malpe.

Coastal villages in Kundapur, Byndur, Malpe, Kapu, and Padubidri continue to suffer from sea erosion, with turbulent sea conditions and massive waves uprooting coconut trees. The Meteorological Department has forecasted these rough sea conditions to persist for a few more days, with an Orange Alert currently in effect.

In Kundapur taluk, wind and rain damaged horticulture crops and 21 houses. The area recorded an average rainfall of 36.4 mm over 24 hours until 8:30 am on Sunday.
