Udupi: Well-known journalist Sandeep Poojary (37), a dedicated member of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association and correspondent for ETV Bharat, passed away on Sunday morning following complications from a road accident.
The accident occurred on March 29 near Ballupete, Sakleshpura, leaving him with severe spinal cord injuries. He had been under intensive care at KMC Hospital, Manipal, but despite continued efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
A native of Shirva, Kaup taluk, Sandeep was respected for his commitment to journalism. Over the years, he had worked with several media outlets including Public TV, Spandana News, BTV, and had taken on roles both as cameraman and reporter.
He was also actively involved in live broadcast operations, contributing to channels such as C4U and Prime Karl.
Sandeep is survived by his parents, brother, and sister. His sudden passing has deeply affected the local media community. The Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association mourned his loss and offered heartfelt condolences to his family.
