Udupi: Karkala school teacher Juliana Rebello passes away

Udupi: Juliana Helen Rebello Dessa, a respected teacher and beloved member of the Udyavara community, passed away early this morning at her residence in Udupi. She was 56 years old.

Dedicated career in education

Juliana had a long and distinguished teaching career. She served as an assistant teacher in several schools, including St. Francis Xavier’s Higher Primary School in Udyavara. For the past several years, she taught at the Main Government Higher Primary School in Bylur, Karkala. Known for her simplicity and dedication, she was adored by her students and colleagues alike.

Community involvement and achievements

Juliana was actively involved in community service. She served as the treasurer of the Lions Club Udyavara and was a talented athlete, winning numerous medals in sports events.

A loss mourned by many

Juliana is survived by her husband, Lawrence Desa, vice-president of the St. Francis Xavier Temple Management Board in Udyavara, a son, a daughter, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Her passing has left a void in the student community and the local education sector.

The funeral service will be held at Udyavara Church on Saturday, where family, friends, and well-wishers will gather to bid farewell to a cherished teacher and community member.
