Udupi: Shankaranarayana police have arrested two accused in connection with an attempted cow theft from the cowshed of Kamalashile temple in Kundapura taluk.
The arrested accused are Wajid J (26) and Faizal (40), residents of Bajpe in Mangaluru. The duo had attempted to steal a cow from the cowshed in the wee hours of June 16. At that time, the temple security staff, who were immediately alerted, came to the cowshed, the accused fled from there. The cow thieves’ attempt was captured on the cowshed’s CCTV.
A case was registered at the Shankaranarayana Police Station regarding this incident. The police, who launched an operation, arrested the duo on June 22 and seized the Hyundai Creta car used in the act. Later, they were produced before the court, and the court has remanded them to 15 days of judicial custody.
