Udupi: SDM Ayurveda College to Host ‘Yoga Sangam’ on International Yoga Day
Udupi: In celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day, the Swasthavritta and Yoga Department of SDM Ayurveda College, Kuthpady, is set to hold a special yoga event titled “Yoga Sangam.” The initiative is being organized in association with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, announced Principal Dr. Mamata KV during a recent press conference.
The yoga session is scheduled for the morning of June 21, taking place on the fourth floor of the college premises between 6:00 am and 8:00 am. The event aims to promote wellness through traditional yogic practices.
Dr. Mamata KV stated that the event is expected to witness participation from over 500 individuals, including students, faculty, and members of the general public. The goal is to encourage widespread adoption of yoga as a holistic tool for physical and mental well-being.
She highlighted that “Yoga Sangam” is not just a practice session but a symbolic confluence of ancient wisdom and modern lifestyle, helping bridge the gap between tradition and today’s health challenges.
The program will feature guided yoga routines, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices under the supervision of trained instructors. Organizers are ensuring all necessary arrangements for smooth execution of the event, keeping health and safety in mind.
With rising global interest in yoga, the college hopes this initiative inspires consistent practice among youth and the wider community.
