Under the guidance of Ramesh Kanchan, President of the Udupi Block Congress Committee, a formal request was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, demanding immediate attention to the dilapidated Udupi-Malpe National Highway. The road, which has severely deteriorated, is causing substantial hardships to commuters.

Every day, thousands of residents from Malpe and the neighboring regions travel to Udupi, enduring difficult and dangerous conditions due to the numerous large potholes and uneven surfaces. These hazardous conditions have resulted in frequent accidents, sparking concerns over the safety of daily travelers.

In light of this, the Congress leaders have called for prompt action to repair the highway and restore its functionality, ensuring it is safe for all who use it. The road’s current state is a growing risk that needs to be addressed without delay.

The memorandum was supported by several influential figures, including Naveen Shetty, Vice President of Kadekar Gram Panchayat, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, former president of Udupi Municipal, along with various members of the Block Congress Committee such as Sharath Shetty, Shashiraj Kundar, Satish Kodavoor, Narayan Kundar, Satish Putran, Bharat Manipal, Archana Devadiga, Sanjay Acharya, and Arjun Nayari, President of Brahmavar Block Youth Congress, alongside Sagar Sanil.

The collective voice of these leaders emphasizes the urgency of road repairs to protect the public and ensure smooth travel for everyone.
