VHP, Hindu Jagarana Vedike Protest Pahalgam Terror Attack
Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Jagarana Vedike held a protest rally in Udupi on Wednesday, condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
The march commenced from Jodukatte and concluded at the Udupi service bus stand, drawing a sizable crowd. Among those present was Sri Arunanandatheertha Swamiji of Nipani, Belagavi, who joined demonstrators in expressing deep sorrow and anger over the attack.
Speaking to the press, protest organiser Dinesh stated, “The Pahalgam attack is not just a regional issue—it is a national wound. The victims were not strangers; they were part of our larger Hindu family. In the past, our armed forces would have responded with double force. We want this protest to urge the central government to act swiftly and firmly.”
The demonstrators chanted slogans demanding justice for the deceased and called for tougher counter-terrorism measures. Placards and banners highlighted the need to enhance internal security and safeguard Indian lives from such heinous acts.
Participants included committee members, local Hindu leaders, and concerned citizens who stood in solidarity with the victims. Many attendees emphasized the importance of national unity in the face of terrorism and reiterated their call for a zero-tolerance policy against such threats.
The rally concluded peacefully, with organisers vowing to continue raising their voices until strong steps are taken to curb terrorism.
