On the night of September 27, a wild elephant wandered into the residential area of Chara near Hebri, causing extensive damage to local farms. The tusker destroyed several plantain and arecanut trees on the properties of Sheena Poojary and Venkatesha Prabhu.
This is the second sighting of the same elephant in just two days, having previously been spotted in the Kucchur area. Farmers are now growing increasingly worried about the elephant’s ongoing impact on their crops.
