In a remarkable and heartwarming incident, a pregnant woman gave birth to a baby inside an ambulance while being transported to a hospital in Gudibande taluk, Chikkaballapur district, about 90 km from Bengaluru. The extraordinary event occurred on Friday morning when the 108 ambulance service received an urgent call at around 8:30 am. The call requested immediate assistance to transport a woman in advanced labor from Doddanancherlu village to the nearest hospital.

Nurse Shanthi and driver Maruthi, part of the ambulance crew, responded promptly to the call. Upon arriving at the village, they found the woman in severe labor pains, necessitating swift action to get her to medical facilities. As they navigated the challenging rural roads, it became clear that the baby’s arrival could not be delayed. With no time to spare, Nurse Shanthi took charge and assisted in delivering the baby right inside the moving ambulance.

The baby boy was born healthy, weighing approximately 2 kg. Despite the stressful circumstances, both mother and infant were in good health. Following the delivery, the ambulance crew ensured that the new mother and her baby were safely transported to the hospital for further care.
