A fishing boat from Malpe sustained severe damage after crashing into rocks near Bhatkal due to intense waves in the Arabian Sea. The incident occurred when strong waves caused the boat’s fishing net to become entangled in its wing, making it unable to move forward and putting it at risk of sinking.
Rescue efforts involved tying the distressed boat to another fishing boat from Bhatkal and attempting to tow it towards Gundy Harbour. Unfortunately, the strong waves caused the ropes to snap, leading the boat to crash into the rocks along the shore. The boat reportedly suffered significant damage in the process.
