SHIRUR: Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail reported that Arjun’s truck is submerged ten meters deep in the Gangavali River. Timber has come off the lorry, and metal parts were found at four locations. “Drone inspections will continue at night. If the river current exceeds two knots, divers cannot descend. It’s not yet confirmed if there is any human presence inside the lorry,” said the MLA. Thermal scanners will be used to detect human presence in the new mission in Shirur.

The drone search for missing truck driver Arjun is ongoing in Shirur. The Navy indicated difficulties in diving due to strong currents in the Gangavali River. On the 10th day of the rescue operation, the mission team confirmed that the underwater truck belongs to Arjun, though drone inspections haven’t determined which side of the truck’s cabin is visible.

Signals confirming the presence of metals under the river were received during iBoard tests. Mission officials noted that divers couldn’t descend due to the conditions. Meanwhile, owner Manaf found pieces of wood from Arjun’s lorry 12 km away.

There is a rain warning in Uttara Kannada today, complicating the mission further. Yesterday, Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byra Gowda and the army confirmed at 3:30 pm that the truck was found at a depth of 20 meters on the banks of the Gangavali, along the national highway, during a Navy sonar inspection and an Army radar inspection. Ten days have passed since Arjun went missing.
