In a risky escapade at Rabindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar, two tourists defied safety warnings and ventured into the turbulent sea despite severe weather conditions. The incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall, causing the sea to turn dangerously rough, with powerful waves crashing against the shore.

Despite clear advisories and red flags signaling hazardous conditions along the beach, the tourists persisted in entering the stormy waters, disregarding their own safety. Concerned lifeguards and police officers swiftly intervened to rescue them from the perilous situation. A video capturing the incident circulated widely on social media, depicting authorities reprimanding and physically assisting the tourists out of the water.

The India Meteorological Department had previously issued an orange alert for Uttara Kannada, advising people to refrain from beach activities due to the inclement weather. Despite these alerts, the tourists chose to ignore the warnings, prompting swift action from local authorities to prevent a potential tragedy.

Officials have emphasized the importance of adhering to safety advisories, particularly during adverse weather conditions, to prevent such incidents in the future. They urge the public to prioritize their safety and respect the guidelines put in place to safeguard beachgoers.
