In a devastating incident in Banavasi, Sirsi taluk, a young boy lost his life after being struck by lightning. The unfortunate event occurred on Saturday evening around 4 PM, sending shockwaves through the community.
The victim, identified as Sajid Ashfaque Ali (16), was a tenth-grade student at Eden Way High School. Reports indicate that Sajid was playing with friends on the grounds of Jayanthi High School in Banavasi when the lightning struck. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to the hospital, Sajid succumbed to his injuries.
The area had been experiencing rainfall since the afternoon, and the tragic accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Banavasi police station. Sajid’s body has been transferred to the government hospital for a post-mortem examination, as authorities work to understand the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
