On May 22, 2024, a 15 MVA transformer failure at the Heble Grid in Bhatkal taluk has led to a widespread disruption in power supply across several areas. The outage is anticipated to persist until Friday, May 24th, according to Manjunath, the Assistant Engineer at Bhatkal HESCOM.
Affected areas encompass Hanifabad, Kargedde, Nawayat Colony, Sagar Road, Kadwin Katta, Usman Nagar, Mutalli, Purvarga, Sarpankatte, Bhatkal Bazar, VT Road, Sonarkeri, Tengingundi Cross, and Hondikeri. Residents residing in these localities are advised to brace for interruptions in their electricity supply until the issue is resolved.
Manjunath has urged residents to extend their cooperation to HESCOM authorities as they diligently work to rectify the problem and restore normal power supply in the shortest possible timeframe.
