In Kalgadda, located in the Nanikatta gram panchayat of Siddapur taluk, a tusker strayed into the village and damaged local farmers’ crops. The incident occurred around midnight, with the elephant caught on camera as it roamed near the village.

The elephant was first sighted by a villager who was shocked to see it grazing nearby. He quickly alerted others, sparking curiosity among residents who initially gathered to see the animal. However, as the elephant began destroying crops, villagers resorted to making loud noises with objects to drive it back into the forest.

Local forest department officials were informed of the incident. While the forest department notes that elephant movement in the area is common, villagers report that seeing a lone tusker near their fields is a new occurrence.
