The Tungabhadra Dam has reached its brim, becoming a new attraction for tourists. The dam is almost full, with water gushing through 10 crest gates into the river. A large number of people are visiting the Munirabad Bridge on the highway to witness this spectacle.

The reservoir currently has an inflow of 87,700 cusecs and is nearly at capacity, providing a wonderful experience for tourists. Visitors are eager to see the dam, Vaikuntha guest house, and Lakeview towards Munirabad to admire the water body.

Although the inflow rate of the Tungabhadra River is less than one lakh cusecs, residents along the river have been advised to exercise caution. District Collector M.S. Diwakar has assured that there is no immediate danger of flooding, but cautioned that an inflow exceeding 3.5 lakh cusecs could lead to flood conditions in some areas.

The Tungabhadra Board had planned to open all 33 crest gates of the dam on Wednesday, but this plan has been postponed due to reduced rainfall and inflow. Revenue officers have advised residents along the river to stay vigilant and have conducted awareness campaigns in places like Hampi, Kamalpur, and Hosur.
