Bijapur District Launches Entrepreneurship Training for Tribal Youths

Bijapur District Launches Entrepreneurship Training For Tribal Youths

In a pioneering effort, the Bijapur district administration has launched a 10-day entrepreneurship training programme specifically for local tribal youths. The training includes six days at RSETI Bijapur and four days at the National Institute for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in Hyderabad. This initiative aims to help the youth identify market opportunities, plan, and manage businesses, creating self-employment opportunities within the district, according to a press release.

At the event’s launch, district collector Anurag Pandey emphasized that if local youth can supply materials for various district development projects, such as roads, buildings, and other infrastructure, it will accelerate the pace of development. This initiative aims to economically empower the youth and foster entrepreneurship skills. Pandey noted that often government work tenders are awarded to a few individuals who then delegate tasks to petty contractors, leading to substandard quality and delays. By training local youth as entrepreneurs, this system is expected to change, ensuring better quality and timely completion of projects.

Pandey also discussed various technical topics, including GST, MRP, ISI Mark, firm and society registration, licenses, and income tax returns. Initially, the training will target tribal youth aged 18 to 35, with plans to extend it later. The event was attended by deputy collector Narayan Prasad Gavel, deputy director Panchayat Geet Kumar Sinha, assistant director skill development Gaurav Pandey, and secretary of Sarva Adivasi Samaj Kamlesh Paikra, among others.
