A complaint was registered at Jangla Police Station after two children went missing from the Pota Cabin in Matwada, Bijapur. The Pota Cabin initiative under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan aims to provide education to tribal children in Bastar, but the facility has faced persistent issues, including food poisoning and negligence.
In recent incidents, a female student fell ill at the Dhanora Pota Cabin, and over two dozen children suffered food poisoning. Similar problems were reported at the Naimed and Bhatwada centers. Tragically, two children died within a week at these locations, highlighting the administration’s apparent apathy.
The Matwada instructor confirmed that the missing children’s families were informed. ASI Dharamchand Thakur stated, “The children have been missing since December 10, and a report was filed on December 12. Efforts are ongoing to locate them.”
Parents, frustrated by the negligence in the management of these residential facilities, are demanding immediate reforms. As the police continue their search, families remain anxious, hoping for a resolution to this troubling situation.
