A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, September 26, near the Dhannur Toll on the Hungund-Talikota State Highway, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including a first-class contractor from Bidarakundi village in Muddebihala taluk.
The deceased have been identified as Lakshman Waddar, a contractor from Bidarakundi, Bailappa Biradara, children of Ramanna Nayak from Muddebihala, and the car driver, Mahmad Rafiq from Gudnal.
The incident took place when their car violently collided with a stationary cantor truck. All four occupants of the car died on the spot.
The accident site falls under the jurisdiction of Hungund Police Station in Bagalkot district. Local police have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings.
Sources indicate that the victims were returning from a visit to a temple near Hosapete when the tragic incident occurred.
