Disillusionment with Extremism

The rebels, disenchanted with the brutal and hollow doctrines of the outlawed outfit, decided to renounce violence. They cited the state’s anti-Naxal policy and the Niyad Nellanar initiative as key reasons for their surrender.

Massive crackdown on Naxalism

Security forces have intensified operations in 2024, leading to:

  • 40 extremists surrendering
  • 56 combatants eliminated
  • 101 insurgents taken into custody

The surrendered cadres will now be integrated into mainstream society, benefiting from the state’s rehabilitation program, which provides livelihood support and safety assurances. Officials hope this development will encourage more Naxals to abandon their arms and reintegrate.
