The IEDs were discovered between Gadamali and Kader villages under the Naimed police station limits, where road construction is currently ongoing. A joint team from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)’s 231st battalion and the district police, along with their respective Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) units, were on road safety duty when they encountered the explosives.

An official stated, “Three IEDs, using the command switch mechanism, were found along the under-construction road by the BDS teams. The two IEDs, each weighing 30 kg, and another one weighing 10 kg, were buried underground with the intent to harm patrolling security personnel.”

The BDS teams promptly neutralized the bombs, ensuring the safety of the area. Naxalites frequently employ such tactics to target security forces engaged in anti-Naxal operations within the Bastar division, which includes seven districts.
