Vijayapura: Soldier Raju Karjagi (35), hailing from Tikota in the district, has tragically passed away. Serving as a Havaldar in Mahar Regiment 13 of the 51st Unit of Indian Rifles, he lost his life while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir. Army officers and the district administration have conveyed the heartbreaking news to his family.

The precise cause of his demise remains unknown. The soldier’s mortal remains are expected to arrive in the district either today or tomorrow. His grieving family, including his wife, father, and mother, are immersed in sorrow and tears.
