A tragic incident unfolded on Monday in Nidagundi Taluk, Vijayapura district, Karnataka, when a 26-year-old woman, Bhagyashree Bhajantri, allegedly threw her four young children into a canal. According to local authorities, the bodies of her two daughters, 5-year-old Tanushree and 3-year-old Suraksha, were recovered later that day, while rescue teams continue to search for her 13-month-old twin sons.

Bhagyashree’s husband, Ningaraju Bhajantri, had been facing severe financial strain, reportedly due to a large loan he had taken. The pressure to repay the loan led to ongoing disputes within the family, particularly over the division of family property, which Ningaraju had requested from his father. When his father refused, it exacerbated tensions, with Ningaraju allegedly blaming his wife for their unresolved financial issues.

While the exact motivations behind Bhagyashree’s actions remain unclear, the family’s financial struggles seem to have played a significant role in the unfolding tragedy. Authorities continue their search for the twin boys, and the community remains in shock over the incident.
