In an innovative approach to encourage helmet use among motorcyclists, Yadgir Police, led by Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar, have started appreciating those wearing helmets by greeting them with roses. This initiative aims to foster compliance with safety rules through positive reinforcement.
Instead of imposing fines on violators, police personnel educate motorcyclists on helmet importance and suggest purchasing good-quality helmets. Motorcyclists are given a week to comply, after which fines will be imposed on repeated violations.
“It’s a thoughtful gesture that highlights the rule’s intent to protect lives,” a motorcyclist remarked. This unique initiative has already motivated many to adopt helmet use, showcasing the effectiveness of a positive, community-oriented approach to road safety.
