Madikeri: Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a case of illegal manufacturing of country-made firearms.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the manufacturing and sale of illegal firearms at a rented house in Sannapulikotu village within the Bhagamandala police station limits, the police raided the premises and arrested Suresh, a 52-year-old native of Idukki district, Kerala. During the raid, two country-made guns (SBBLs) and one country-made pistol were seized, along with materials used for manufacturing these firearms.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three additional individuals: N.J. Shivarama (45) of Karike Chettukaya village, S. Ravi (35) of Piriyapatna Magali village, and Koti (55) of Dodda Pulikotu village in Bhagamandala. These individuals had purchased the illegally manufactured firearms from Suresh. One country-made gun (SBBL) was seized from each of them.

In total, five country-made guns and one country-made pistol were confiscated during this operation.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of SP K. Ramaraj, with support from DySP Mahesh Kumar, Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa of Madikeri Rural, and the staff of Bhagamandala police station.
