Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Ponnampet, Madikeri, has enhanced its offerings with the inauguration of a dental clinic, pharmacy, and diagnostic center. The expansion was launched by Swami Muktidananda, president of the Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashrama. During the event, the seer emphasized the crucial role of local support in the growth of religious institutions. He acknowledged that the development of the ashram was made possible through the collaboration of the people of Kodagu.

Swami Bhodaswaroopananda, the former president of the Ponnampet Ashrama and now heading the Halasuru Ramakrishna Ashrama in Bengaluru, shared that the construction of a new worship hall was completed with the community’s involvement. Reflecting on past challenges, he recalled how the ashram helped those affected by the floods and the COVID-19 crisis, thanks to the active support of local devotees.

Swami Parahitananda, head of the Sri Ramakrishna Ponnampet unit, announced that the ashram’s centenary celebration will take place in 2026. He added that the old hospital would be renovated and upgraded with modern technology to serve the community better. The event was also attended by several other prominent swamis, including Swami Atmavidhananda, Swami Nithyasthananda, Swami Tattvarupananda, Swami Jitakamananda, and Swami Divya Bhodhananda.
