In a disturbing case of child abduction, Vishnu Rao, an astrologer from Raichur, was arrested by the Kolar police after kidnapping four boys from the Bangarpet region, Karnataka. The children, taken from Deshihalli, were held captive in a lodge while the perpetrator demanded a ransom from their parents.

The ordeal came to light when Sumangali, the mother of one of the boys, Likhit, reported the abduction to the Bangarpet police. Along with her son, three other children — Sharath, Mubarak, and Hemanth Kumar — were abducted by Rao.

In a swift and coordinated response, the police tracked down the children’s location and rescued them from the lodge. The authorities apprehended Rao near Triveni Cinema in Bengaluru, after he had been demanding ransom for the children’s release.

During the investigation, the police uncovered items associated with witchcraft, including bones and lemons, which Rao had used in an attempt to perform occult rituals on the children. Rao had falsely claimed that the children’s “time was not right” and that they required his intervention.

A case has been filed at Bangarpet Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
