Bangarapet: An Indian Air Force helicopter made a safe emergency landing in an empty lake bed in Doduru Karapanahalli village of the taluk on Sunday.

Two helicopters from the Indian Air Force took off from Yelahanka, Bengaluru, at 3 PM, headed for the Tambaram Air Base in Chennai. During the flight, one of the helicopters experienced a technical issue, prompting the crew to search for a safe landing spot.

After circling above Doduru Karapanahalli for some time, the helicopter successfully landed in an empty lake bed at around 4 PM. The second helicopter continued its journey to Tambaram, Chennai.

The helicopter that made the emergency landing had two pilots and one ground staff member on board. All occupants are reported to be safe.

Following the incident, a technical team from Bengaluru was dispatched to the site in another helicopter to assess and repair the issue.

Senior Police Officer Shantaraju visited the site shortly after the incident. As news of the landing spread, villagers from the surrounding areas rushed to the scene in groups to witness the unusual occurrence.

The emergency landing took place in the DK Halli lake, drawing significant attention from locals. Police Officer Shantaraju was seen discussing the situation with the pilots at the landing site.

Authorities are currently working on resolving the technical problem, and further updates on the situation are expected.
