A tragic incident unfolded in Kolar, Bhopal, where a 22-year-old second-year MBBS student was found dead in her rented accommodation on Tuesday night. Her friends discovered her unresponsive and immediately alerted the police.
Sub-Inspector Joginder Negi, who is leading the investigation, identified the deceased as Rimjhim Srivastava, a native of Ujjain. Her father, Sanjay Srivastava, is employed in a private firm. On Tuesday, he visited Bhopal for a work-related meeting, accompanied by his wife, intending to meet their daughter. The couple stayed at a hotel and invited Rimjhim over.
During their conversation, Rimjhim’s parents suggested she visit Ujjain for Holi celebrations. However, she declined, explaining that her only day off would be spent commuting. Instead, she assured them that she would celebrate the festival in Bhopal. After finishing his meeting, Sanjay, along with his wife, left for Ujjain. Midway through their journey, they received the heartbreaking news of their daughter’s untimely demise.
The family stated that Rimjhim had never expressed any personal or academic concerns. However, they remained uncertain about any underlying issues she may have faced. Upon searching her room, authorities recovered a note in which she conveyed her decision to end her life, citing a desire for peace. Initial findings suggest she was battling depression.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
