A tragic incident unfolded in Karnataka’s Koppal district, where a 26-year-old doctor from Hyderabad went missing while swimming in the Tungabhadra River.

Ananya Rao, employed at a private hospital in Hyderabad, had traveled to Gangavathi city with three friends for a leisure trip. On Wednesday morning, she leaped into the river from a rocky ledge near the Tungabhadra dam. Unfortunately, the powerful currents overwhelmed her, pulling her downstream.

A video capturing her final moments shows Ananya taking the jump before being carried away by the rushing waters. Rescue teams have been deployed, but she remains untraceable. Authorities and local divers are conducting extensive search operations along the riverbanks.

The police have recorded statements from her companions, who are assisting in the investigation. Officials have urged visitors to exercise caution near the Tungabhadra, as the river’s unpredictable flow poses significant risks.

As efforts continue, Ananya’s family and friends anxiously await updates, hoping for a breakthrough in the search.
