Mangaluru: Anirvedha, a fully-fledged resource centre for psychological wellbeing for assessment, therapy and training, in collaboration with NewsKarnataka.com is organising a three-day ‘Queer Affirmative Practice Workshop’ from June 17.
The initiative is part of the year-long project of reaching out to different groups that have difficulty with accessibility to mental health under the WHO theme Mental Health in an Unequal World 2021-22 for the monthly session in June.
The 6-hour programme will be held by Ranjani (She/They) Clinical Psychologist, Certified Queer Affirmative therapist.
The programme is open to students and mental health practitioners and from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
Training session will cover, the Normative Perspective and Significance of Queer Affirmative Practice, Unique Life Stressors – Gender, Queer and Trans Narrative, Relationship Issues in the Community, Queering Therapy – QA CBT, QA Narrative Therapy and others.
For students, the registration fee is Rs. 750, and for professionals, it is Rs. 1500.
