
Akka Cafe Initiative Launched to Empower Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Akka Cafe initiative was inaugurated on Tuesday, aiming to enhance rural women’s entrepreneurship in Karnataka. Dr. Sharanaprakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, highlighted the initiative’s potential to significantly transform the socio-economic landscape of the state by empowering women and fostering entrepreneurial skills.
The Karnataka state government has earmarked nearly Rs 25 crore for this project, which was announced in the 2024-25 budget. The initiative will be implemented by the National Livelihood Mission-Karnataka (NLM), focusing on providing support and resources for rural women to start and manage their own cafes.
