A recent report by Visit London reveals that London is a top destination for walking and biking enthusiasts. The UK capital has been ranked as the second-best city in Europe for walking and biking tours, with 42% of these tours receiving five-star ratings.

Globally, London holds the third spot for the total number of walking and biking tours available, offering 1,460 options. It trails behind Rome (2,985 tours) and Hanoi (1,696 tours).

In terms of rainfall, London is the 29th driest city out of 91 ranked, with an average of 690mm of rainfall per year, equating to around 94 rainy days annually. This places it just behind Thessaloniki, Greece, which has 687mm of average rainfall.

Overall, London ranks fourth in the world for its walking and biking tours, scoring 82.2 out of 100 in the study’s index. It is surpassed only by Barcelona, Paris, and Rome, outperforming other major cities like Amsterdam, New York, and Berlin.

Rose Wangen-Jones, Managing Director at Visit London, highlighted London’s green credentials, noting that 20% of the city is public green space, with a goal to reach 50% by 2050. The capital’s cycleway network has expanded significantly, growing by 360km since 2016, and daily cycle journeys have risen by 20% since 2019.
