At just 24, Sharanya from Vazhathoppil House in Nedumkandam Minor City is redefining what it means to balance life’s demands. A mother of two, a BBA student, and a fearless driver navigating Kerala’s steepest routes, she’s proving that determination knows no limits.
Now in her third year at Jawaharlal Nehru College, Thookkupalam, Sharanya swaps textbooks for the steering wheel on weekends and holidays. From pickup vans to timber-laden trucks, she expertly maneuvers vehicles through Idukki’s narrow, winding mountain roads—routes that intimidate even seasoned drivers.
Sharanya earned her driver’s license at 18, mentored by her father Muthu, a veteran on the road. Her passion found perfect partnership in marriage with Karimbahikkal Surya, also a professional driver. From local hauls to long-distance timber transport, there are few places in the high ranges Sharanya hasn’t driven.
Even as she conquers rugged terrain, she remains anchored to her academic dreams. She aims to pursue post-graduation and prepare for competitive exams once she completes her degree.
Juggling roles with extraordinary poise, Sharanya is also a loving mother to four-year-old Surya Gayathri and two-and-a-half-year-old Surya Krishna. Her story is one of relentless grit, breaking stereotypes and inspiring a new generation of women.
