A Thanksgiving preparation video by a digital content creator has ignited controversy on social media, drawing criticism for its unconventional and seemingly unhygienic cooking methods. The creator shared her “one-pan turkey dinner” technique ahead of Thanksgiving, celebrated this year on November 28. However, the approach left many foodies unimpressed.
The video begins with the creator placing an unwashed, raw turkey in an aluminum tray—a step that violated a common kitchen rule of washing poultry thoroughly. Surrounding the turkey, she arranged sides like sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, casseroles, and mashed potatoes. She then poured milk and oil over the entire mix, pressed it with a spoon, added water, and garnished the meat with sliced onions and butter cubes.
While the creator described the method as a “lifesaver,” commenters had a vastly different reaction. Critics labeled the process “unsanitary” and called her out for skipping essential cleaning and seasoning steps. “What in the thousand ways to die is this?” one user remarked. Another declared, “This is why I’m not eating at anyone’s house!”
Many questioned the logic behind using organic meat only to skip proper cleaning and pair it with heavily processed sides. One commenter summed it up: “You didn’t clean that turkey or season it properly. Glad I’m not on your guest list!”
The video has since sparked discussions on cooking hygiene and proper Thanksgiving prep.
