Mandya: A 15-year-old high school student was kidnapped by five unidentified individuals in Malavalli town on Tuesday morning. The victim, who is currently studying in Class X, managed to escape from his captors while they stopped for a tea break in Periyapatna, Mysuru district.

According to the complaint filed by the boy’s father, 47-year-old Sundar Bin Eregowda, the kidnapping occurred around 5:20 AM as the student was on his way to tuition classes. The assailants, who spoke Urdu and Hindi, allegedly assaulted him during the abduction.

The boy managed to flee after biting one of the kidnappers when they paused their vehicle. He subsequently contacted his father using the mobile phone of a cab driver. Upon reuniting in Periyapatna, he was found with injuries and was later treated at KR Hospital.

Local police have initiated an investigation based on the complaint and registered a First Information Report (FIR) under relevant sections of the law. Mandya Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects involved in this alarming incident.
