Mandya: Mandya MLA P. Ravikumar emphasized the importance of bringing government schemes directly to the people during the inauguration of the Janata Darshan programme in Hale Budanoor village on Thursday. He urged residents to make the most of this initiative designed to address their grievances effectively.

Previously organized at the hobli level in places like Basaralu and Keragodu, the Janata Darshan programme has now been extended to villages. Ravikumar noted that earlier campaigns received approximately 5,000 applications, with 90% resolved within a month, barring those with legal constraints.

“By expanding the programme to the village level, such as today’s event in Budanoor, and initiating household visits in urban wards, we aim to make the administration more accessible,” Ravikumar said. Visits have already been conducted in 14 wards, addressing individual concerns.

The E-Swathu campaign was also launched in Budanoor, with taluk panchayat executive officers directed to expedite the issuance of property records. Applications submitted during the Janata Darshan are being resolved on the spot whenever feasible, with unresolved cases forwarded to relevant officials for resolution within a month.

Mandya Sub-Divisional Assistant Commissioner Shivamurthy highlighted the success of property account initiatives, with over 15,000 accounts already created. He lauded the effectiveness of combining programmes like Janata Darshan and E-Swathu campaigns at the grassroots level, ensuring rapid grievance redressal and benefiting local communities.
