Belthangady witnessed a daring theft when burglars allegedly stole gold from a home left unsecured.

Fatimath Ranzin, a 19-year-old resident of Neriya village, reported that the incident took place on Wednesday around 9 AM. She had left the main door open while working in the kitchen of her house in Akkole, Belthangady taluk.

At 9:30 AM, she returned to her room only to find the cupboard ajar, clothes scattered across the floor, and 52 grams of gold jewelry missing. The stolen ornaments are estimated to be worth ₹3.12 lakh.

Police suspect that unidentified thieves sneaked in during this time and swiftly executed the theft. A case has been registered at Dharmasthala Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
