Mangaluru: A car overturned after the driver reportedly lost control while negotiating a curve near Paneer Church close to Natekal on Thursday morning. The driver, a student of a private medical college in Deralakatte, escaped with minor injuries.
The accident occurred while the student was travelling in his Swift car from Deralakatte towards Beeri via Paneer Road. According to reports, the vehicle lost control while negotiating a curve near the church and overturned.
Car comes to rest near transformer
After overturning, the car came to a halt after leaning against a nearby electrical transformer pole. The position of the vehicle near the electrical installation raised concerns about the possibility of a more serious incident.
Fortunately, the driver was able to escape from the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries. No major casualties were reported in the incident.
The accident took place on the Paneer Road, which connects the Deralakatte area with Beeri and surrounding localities. The curve near Paneer Church was the location where the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
MESCOM officials inspect spot
Following the accident, officials from Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) visited the spot and inspected the electrical infrastructure.
The inspection was carried out after the overturned car came into contact with or leaned against the transformer pole. Officials assessed the situation at the location following the incident.
The accident once again highlights the need for motorists to exercise caution while negotiating curves, particularly on roads where visibility and vehicle control can be affected.
Driver escapes major injury
The fact that the vehicle stopped against the transformer pole helped avert what could have been a more serious accident. The driver reportedly managed to get out of the car with only minor injuries.
