Mangaluru: The CEN police have launched an investigation into allegations of misappropriation involving a supervisor at a petrol bunk located on the outskirts of the city. The supervisor, who had been employed at the bunk for nearly 15 years, allegedly embezzled a sum of Rs 58.9 lakh between March 1 and July 31, 2023.
According to the complaint filed by the bunk’s manager, the accused was responsible for handling financial transactions and overseeing operations at the bunk. During the mentioned period, the supervisor is said to have replaced the official QR code of the bunk with his personal QR code. This fraudulent action led customers to unknowingly direct their payments to his personal account instead of the bunk’s official account, resulting in significant financial loss. The case has been registered, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
