Mangaluru: The District Congress SC/ST Cell organized a Samvidhan Samrakshana Jatha on Monday to denounce Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about B.R. Ambedkar and demand his resignation. Protesters marched from Ambedkar Circle to the Mini Vidhana Saudha, where a protest meeting was held.

Slogans condemning the Union Minister echoed through the rally, with leaders vowing to sustain the agitation until Shah steps down. MLC Ivan D’Souza and former minister Ramanatha Rai addressed the gathering, emphasizing their commitment to justice and the protection of constitutional values.

Prominent Congress leaders including DCC President Harish Kumar, SC/ST Cell Chief Dinesh Muloor, Cashew Development Corporation Chairperson Mamatha Gatti, former MLA J.R. Lobo, ex-mayors Shashidhar Hegde and K. Ashraf, as well as Padmaraj R, Mithun Rai, and Inayat Ali, actively participated in the demonstration.

The protest highlighted the Congress party’s stance on safeguarding constitutional principles and honoring Ambedkar’s legacy.
