A delegation from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] met with the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner on Wednesday to submit a memorandum calling for the swift completion of the Jeppu Mahakalipadpu railway underpass project. The delegation highlighted that the construction work, which has been ongoing for the past three years, has been progressing at an extremely slow pace, causing significant inconvenience to residents in the areas of Ullal, Thokkottu, Bajal, Jeppinamogaru, and surrounding regions.
The memorandum emphasized the urgency of the situation, pointing out the daily challenges faced by the local population due to the incomplete underpass. The lack of progress has not only disrupted daily commutes but also hampered the overall connectivity and development of these areas. The CPI(M) urged the Mangaluru City Corporation to exert pressure on the Railway Department to expedite the construction work and ensure timely completion.
The delegation included prominent members such as Sunil Kumar Bajal, Yogish Jeppinamogaru, Bharathi Bolar, Prameela Devadiga, and others. Their collective appeal underscores the community’s frustration and the pressing need for infrastructure development to keep pace with the growing demands of the region.
The CPI(M) hopes that their intervention will lead to immediate action and relieve the ongoing inconvenience faced by thousands of residents.
