Mangaluru: The joint counselling and seat allocation for 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IIEST Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 3 Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and 37 Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs), collectively called the NIT+ System, were conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA 2024).
Out of the 42,200 seats available in the NIT+ System, approximately 41,000 seats were allotted to candidates up to the final round (5th Round) of JoSAA counselling. Around 28,700 candidates accepted the allotted seats, leaving approximately 13,500 seats still vacant in these institutes. These vacant seats will be filled through the CSAB Special Round Counselling conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB 2024) and organized by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal. There will be two special rounds of counselling to fill these vacant seats.
Eligibility
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria as per the JoSAA-2024 Business Rules can participate in the CSAB 2024 Special Round Counselling for the NIT+ System. Candidates who have participated in JoSAA 2024 and are willing to upgrade their seats, as well as fresh candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, can participate in the CSAB 2024 Special Round Counselling. All eligible candidates must register afresh for the CSAB Special Rounds at the CSAB portal.
Counselling Process
The registration and choice filling for the CSAB 2024 Special Round will start on July 31, 2024. Fifty-two Document Verification Centers (VCs) and Help Centers (HCs) have been established across the country to assist with the CSAB-2024 counselling process. A multilingual Help Desk in 10 Indian languages has been set up at CSAB Headquarters at NITK Surathkal to facilitate the counselling process.
